All of a sudden, it was 7:00pm.  I was starving and my dogs were-a-barkin'.  Dogs as in feet, not our sweet Bella.
Ahhh....Bella-Moose.

Menu Plan 7/5-7/9

I hope you all had a fun 4th of July holiday facing Tuesday with all fingers and toes accounted for!
So, we have had a crazy couple of months that I let Menu Planning go by the way-side.  Aside from spending far too much money running to the grocery store a couple times a week, we have also been eating far too much boxed, frozen, and pre-packaged fare.  So, I am back on it, and SO happy to do so!
What is on your plan for the week?
  • Tuesday - Salmon with Creamy Cucumber Dill Relish, Rice Pilaf, Garlic Almond Green Beans, Strawberry Rhubarb Pie
  • Wednesday - Spasanga, Garden Salad, Homemade Breadsticks
  • Thursday - Okinawan Takoraisu (aka “Taco Rice”)
  • Friday - 3-Envelope Crockpot Chicken, Garlic Parmesan Mashed Potatoes, Peas
  • Saturday - Teriyaki Chicken, Stir-Fry Veggies, Potstickers, Rice

Here is what we are having this week in no particular order...cause that's how I roll....order-less.

Anyway, back to the menu plan!

Menu Plan 8/20 - 8/26

Last week FLEW by!  All of a sudden it was Friday and I had to make a new menu plan and still had 2 meals that weren't made last week, so there are a couple "roll-overs".  We are moving in 60-ish days, so I am planning a massive pantry and freezer inventory so I can get as much used up as possible before then.  When we moved a year ago and I threw away embarrassing amounts of food and still was able to stock up my Mom's pantry.  I am not sure what happened to my "buy only what you will use" resolution.  Oh well, should make for some creative meals for the next couple of months!
So, here are them meals on our menu this week:

~Grilled Steak, Shrimp Cocktail, Baked Potato, and Salad.  Lemon filled Lemon Cupcakes for dessert.  Happy Birthday to my amazing, wonderful Hubby!
~Burrada Supreme, home baked Lime Tortilla Chips with Salsa and Guacamole
~Grilled Salmon with Cucumber Dill Relish, Rice Pilaf, and Garlic Almond Green Beans

Menu Plan Friday 7/2 - 7/9

Happy Friday!  What are your plans for this holiday weekend?  We, sadly, have none..nada....zilch.  We were going to drive an hour to the military base and join in the festivities there, but the thought of driving an hour home after the fireworks end at 11:00, in the dark, with the crazies, just did not sound all that appealing.  So, we are plan-less.  Seems like the older I am, the more content I am to stay home and have regularly scheduled bedtimes, ha ha!
Since it is summer, and you never know what the day may bring, I am going to give myself a break on the meal planning aspect.  I am still going to plan, but I am not going to hold myself to the day.  As for lunches...they have been impossible to keep planned, so I am going to leave those out, at least for now.
The dinners I have on the board for this week are:

Crockpot Brown Sugar Chicken, Steamed Rice, Stir-Fry Veggies, Potstickers
Country BBQ Ribs, PW Potato Bundles, Vegetable Medley
Taco and Burrito Night with Homemade Flour Tortillas, Beans, and Spanish Rice
Upside Down Supreme Pizza, Salad
BBQ Meatballs, Mashed Potatoes, Corn, Butter-Dipped Biscuits
Crockpot Chicken Parmesan, Pasta, Homemade Breadsticks, Salad

I hope you have a WONDERFUL, FUN-FILLED holiday weekend!  Be safe my friends!!!  xoxo

Menu Plan 6/25-7/2

It has been a couple weeks since I did a menu plan, and boy did my stress level and wallet feel it! It continue to astounds me how much money you save when you plan your meals, make a good list, and don't need to go to the store for random items. Not to mention, you don't have to think about the whole "what is for dinner" thing for a whole week.....though I do reserve the right, as the head chef, to switch things around :)  What is going to be on your table this week?
Friday
Lunch - Cold-Cut Sandwiches, Cheese Crackers, Peaches
     Dinner - Cheeseburgers, Potato Wedges
Saturday
Lunch - Chili Dogs, Carrots and Celery with Ranch Yogurt Dip

Menu Plan Friday

I am setting out some lofty goals for Siggy Spice that I thought I would share with you and maybe (please, please) get your thoughts on them as well.
  1. I have started putting my Weekly Menu Plans on the Siggy Spice Face Book page, but I am going to post it here as well on Fridays.  Because the blog is so new, there may not be links to the recipes yet, BUT I love getting inspiration from seeing what others are cooking for the week.  So feel free to use this as a virtual think tank of ideas and please share yours as well!
  2. With summer break here, I want to take a day of the week and post a kiddo specific meal, snack, or idea.  Some might be things you have seen or heard of before, but there may be something new to incorporate into your repertoire.
  3. I am going to bring back "Favorite Finds".  I love hearing about products that people love that I may have never tried.  This can be food items or other things that have made my life easier or made me smile.
OK, onto the menu plan for this week...INCLUDING LUNCHES, you know summer break and all brings the need for some creative lunches.

Friday
Lunch - Triangle Crescent Bread topped with PB& Honey and fresh fruit
Dinner - Panko crusted Tilapia, Potato Wedges, Coleslaw

Saturday
     Lunch - Costco
Dinner - BBQ Cheeseburgers, Baked Fajita Fries, BBQ Beans

Sunday
Lunch - Hot dogs, chips, apples
Dinner - BBQ Country Style Ribs, potato salad, corn on the cob

Monday
Lunch - Octopus on Seaweed, Goldfish, Apricots
Dinner - Sweet and Sour Chicken, Rice, Potstickers

Tuesday
Lunch - Macaroni and cheese, carrots and celery with ranch yogurt dip
Dinner - Beefy Garden Patch Soup, Salad, Homemade Breadsticks

Wednesday
Lunch - Peanut butter, Nutella, Banana quesadilla, GM Smoothie
Dinner - Asian Chicken Broccoli Slaw

Thursday
Lunch - Pizza Sticks, Creamy Cucumber Salad
Dinner - Southwest Chicken Chile Hoagie Melts, Mexican Chopped Salad

Friday
     Lunch - Homemade Lunchable's, Grapes
Dinner - Swedish Meatballs, Egg Noodles, Peas and Carrots

So, again...I would love some feedback on my goals/ideas and of course what you have on your menu plan for the week
